Our Principles in Caring for the Environment

It is our mission to foster a healthy and sustainable future for those communities and their associated forests. In accordance to our mission and the Forest Products Act 2000, we follow a set of principles for sustainable forest management.

These are the same principles followed by the Forest Products Commission which includes:

  • the conservation of biodiversity

  • the maintenance of ecosystem health and vitality

  • the conservation and maintenance of soil and water

  • the maintenance of productive capacity

  • the maintenance of heritage, and

  • the maintenance of socio-economic values.

These principles are implemented through

  • rigorous internal processes and environmental controls

  • continuous education and workforce development

  • strong stakeholder engagement

  • continuous improvement

  • independent auditing and certification of our processes, systems and procedures
