FPC: One Year Indicative Harvest Plan For 2015

1 Jun 2015

This article maps out the one year indicative harvest plan for 2015 by the Forest Products Commission. Original article can be read here.

The one year indicative timber harvest plan for 2015 has been prepared in accordance with the Forest Management Plan 2014 -2023 and in consultation with the Department of Parks and Wildlife.

The plan includes a list of native forest coupes that are scheduled to be harvested in full or in part during 2015. Details of the plan, including maps and associated sawlog volumes are available below for each of the forest resource supply zones: Northern and Southern.

Minor modifications to the 2015 plan, including final operational boundaries in individual coupes, may be made as detailed planning progresses.

The default sawlog targets used for the plans are within the FMP 2014-2023 allowable cuts. However, the final contracted product volumes, customer requirements and mix of delivery locations have not been available to guide the plan construction at the sub-supply zone level. Consequently, these plans depart from previous approaches by incorporating a much higher volume contingency for each product and supply zone.
