FWPRDC is a venture funded jointly by the Commonwealth Government and the Australian forest and wood products industry. Their mission is to provide effective and relevant forest research and development. The Forest Product Commission is 7-member group established by the WA Government to oversee the commercial production, allocation and sale of forest products. Their responsibility includes forest products from the State’s native forests as well as State owned and managed plantation resources.
The National Forest Inventory collects and distributes information on Australia’s forests and was established as a partnership between the Commonwealth and all State and Territory Governments. Plantations 2020 is a joint venture between Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry Australia, the forest industries, Australian Forest Growers, Plantations Australia and the Ministerial Council on Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture. Timber Insight Pty Ltd provides technical support focused on timber in construction, working closely with WA and national timber suppliers, producers, fabricators, designers and builders on timber performance, assessment and specification. We also work closely with home, multi-residential and commercial builders on timber construction practice. We are registered NATA assessors for timber manufacture and wood quality and provide third party timber inspection and certification.
In Western Australia Timber Insight is part of the FWPA Wood Solutions national technical team. We assist with professional development and training on timber performance, construction practice, timber grading, and product knowledge. Timber Insight also provides procurement services for specialised and non-standard sized timber products, and installation of timber products in primarily commercial projects. Through our associated company Engenuity Consulting Engineers we provide structural, geo-technical and civil engineering services for builders, designers and developers.
